Wart Removal NYC, Treatment of Warts

Warts

Caused by a viral infection from the human papilloma virus (HPV), warts are common non-cancerous skin growths that come in all different sizes and shapes and can grow on all parts of your body.  Warts can be skin-colored and rough, or dark, flat and smooth.  If not treated, many warts may resolve on their own, but it could take months, or even years.

Even though warts are not dangerous, there are many good reasons people decide to treat warts.  Warts can become painful or bleed when irritated.  Warts may spread to other parts of your body, or even to other people.  You may be embarrassed by the way your warts look.  And, in some cases, your “wart” might not be a wart at all, but rather a more serious cancerous or pre-cancerous skin growth.

In some cases, warts can be treated with over-the-counter topical treatments.  But many times, warts can be stubbornly resistant to such treatments, and it may take daily applications for many months to fully treat a wart.  Dr. Seidenberg can assess your growth to make sure it is only a wart, and then discuss all the options for removing it.

While all procedures carry some risk and uncertainty, the removal of warts is normally safe when performed by a qualified, experienced dermatologist.  Dr. Seidenberg will meet with you to assess your warts and discuss your options for treatment, including any possible side affects, such as pigment loss or scarring, you may experience.  Request an appointment online or call today to set up a consultation with Dr. Seidenberg.
